Did you know ?In an address to the Univesité du Québec à Chicoutimi on January 9th 2003, Mr. Daniel Colpron has reported on the water market in Québec. Contrary to popular beliefs, the water is far from being endangered by the bottled water industry: Water is a resource in movement that is perpetually renewed. The Québec underground water is very abundant and is renewed by the rain water that seeps in the ground. All the users that draw water from underground (agriculture, villages, industries etc) draw altogether about 3% of the yearly renewal. The water bottlers draw only 0.08 of 1% of everything that is drawn by all the users. The water catchment therefore doesn’t endanger the resource. The real danger is pollution that leads to a drinking water shortage.
